We’ll I’m writing this at 6:10 am. Does that tell you anything about meeting my goals?
As far as waking up earlier each week in June, I’m calling it success. Week one and two were cake and left me waking up at 6:20 am. Week three and four were more difficult and I’ll admit I hit the snooze until 6:30 am for some days. However, the mornings I had the extra time went spectacularly! I emptied the dishwasher, brushed the cats, and actually felt more presentable myself.
Will I sustain it? If I’m being honest, no. But I’m going to try to! After all, one month is not long enough to make a new behavior a habit.
Phase two will include waking up at 6:15 am for an undetermined amount of time. 6:20 I know I can do. 6:10 am I know I can’t. So I’m cutting it down the middle and hoping to sustain it. Wish me luck!
As far as the lunch prep in the evening goes, I also declare this a success. I’ve gotten back into my groove. It worked well to pack lunch before cleaning up my dinner mess or even making it while dinner was cooking. There were some occasions that my lunch was lame, cheese and crackers with fruit and yogurt (today), but mornings still went more smoothly.
I’m happy I set these small goals. I feel more prepared for bigger goals now. I’m more organized and ready for my days. Now maintenance of them is the real trick. Lunch making, no problem, that was an old habit. Wake up time is another story, but I’ll do my best.
Now I must go think about my July goals and get ready for work! I think they should be a little more challenging, don’t you think!?
