December Goals

Can you believe it’s the end of November already?  I can’t!  But alas, it is, and we are in the midst of the holiday season.

With the holidays comes time with family and friends, gifts, and good food.  The good always comes with the bad, and so the holidays also bring stress, increased time demands, and less time to exercise.

It’s especially important to remain steadfast in commitments to good health even through the holidays.  I’m not much of a new year’s resolution maker.  I’d much rather resolve to stay on the right track all the way through the holidays and beyond into the new year.

Goal for this year is to kill two birds with one stone by making time to exercise and hopefully de-stressing while I’m at it.

I’m joining fellow blogger from Because I Can in the 30 for 60 challenge.  That is, 30 minutes of exercise for 60 days in a row, starting December 1! Officially sign up for her challenge and she’s even offering prizes!  I don’t have any prizes for you, other than the satisfaction you’ll get physically, emotionally, and mentally when you complete this challenge.

I hope you’ll join me in the challenge and make the commitment to get/stay healthy, move more, and de-stress before the new year!  I’ll be adding my movement of the day to the bottom of my posts, or on some days stopping by just to share that I moved!  I encourage you to comment with your 30 minutes of movement for the next 60 days (and beyond).  We can keep each other on track!

Activity Factoid:  Can’t fit 30 minutes of activity into your day?  Move in 10 minute blocks of time.  You’re more likely to reach your goal or at least get closer.  Take 10 minute walks around the mall between shopping, do 15 minutes of yoga when you wake up and before bed, or take a 15 minute walk to drop off/pick up the kids from the bus stop instead of driving.

  1. I love this idea. I get really daunted by exercising in the winter… it’s just so colllllllld. But ten minutes of yoga in the morning I feel like would be a really lovely way to start the day (and warm up my muscles!)
