Holy Hot Hummus

I always enjoy fresh hummus.  However, I underestimated how much I would enjoy hot hummus with a few twists.

TWIST 1:  Roasted Garlic

Separate garlic to decrease cooking time.  Smother with olive oil and salt.  Bake covered at 375 degrees for ~25 minutes or until soft.  The result is a sweet clove without so much bite.

TWIST 2:  Walnuts

(Do I really need to photograph my bag of walnuts?)

These gave the hummus a creamier nutty taste.  And they add a punch of Vitamin E, B Vitamins, and Fiber!

TWIST 3:  Curry Powder

Just a pinch gives the hummus a kick without being overpowered.

Of course the hummus had the usual ingredients:  chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, salt, and pepper.  When everything was combined I heated it on low until it was smooth, creamy and warm.   Best I’ve ever made!

Served with Wheat Thins and Sesame pita chips.

And warmed naan.  Red heart

And a big spinach, strawberry, cucumber, and honey sesame stick salad.

With honey mustard dressing.

Sun SMILE!  You’re one day closer to the weekend!  Sun

What do you like to add to hummus to BAM kick it up a notch?
