Let Us All Document THESE Moments

Moment #1:  Last night I was sitting on the recliner, watching some TV, hangin’ with the kitties and hubby.  Got an accurate picture?  And despite this moment of relaxation I felt so energized!  I looked at Steve and said, Are you sure you want to go to spin class tomorrow?  His response was, Yeah!  Of course!  Why?  And then the amazing words came out of my mouth…I haven’t run for 4 days and I miss it.  This is a whole new thing for me!  I started running because I wanted a concrete goal to work on and a 5K seemed reasonable.  And while I’ve been working on building up my endurance and decreasing my time…I’ve actually come to like it!  Seriously, what a concept.  I hear about it all the time, but never really thought it would happen to me.  But it did!

Moment #2:  This morning I was heading to work at about 7:15 AM.  Lady Gaga’s Born This Way comes on the radio.  This just happens to be my favorite song to run to these days.  Such a great beat and not a bad message to hear either!  And it happens again…the urge to run!  I seriously felt like I wanted to run to work at that moment.  Instead I proceeded to put on a dancing show for the drivers around me.  I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

Are there any new (or seasoned) runners/joggers/exercisers that have these waves of energy and motivation?  I know I’m loving it and I hope some of you are too!  And if not, keep the faith…I was skeptical to start out too!

Happy RD Day to all those wonderful folks out there promoting a healthy lifestyle everyday!

  1. I had this same realization when I first did Couch to 5K like two years ago. Craaaazy!!

Do you have a 5k planned?

  2. Couch to 5K is how I started! But now I’m just kind of doing my own thing.

I have a couple of 5K’s in mind, but haven’t picked one yet. I’m kind of scared that when I pick one I won’t be ready! It’s a mental thing I have to overcome. But now even just typing reminds me that I got to get on that! Thanks!
