Look What I Got!

We got our first delivery of local meat from Yeehaw Farm in Duncannon, PA.  We signed up for 10 pounds a month, but got over 14!  Excited would be an understatement for what I feel right now.  Aside from eggs, I’ve never eaten meat this fresh!  And by this fresh, I mean some of it was butchered within the last few days!  So here’s what we’ll be cooking up in the next month or so…

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 11 ounce chicken breast
  • 1 pound veal cutlets
  • 2 pounds chicken leg/wing
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 pound 4 ounces pork tenderloin
  • 2 – 8 ounce NY strip steaks
  • 2 – 8 ounce sirloin
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound 4 ounces boneless pork chops
  • 4 – 4 ounce hamburger patties

Can’t wait to share how we use all these goodies!

Has anyone else eaten meat this fresh?  Does it really taste better?  I’ll certainly be weighing in on this soon!
